We were inspired by the art deco movement and luxury ocean liners stopping at international ports where one could experience the local culture and unique eats. We chose the name Portside to signify traveling the world one cup and treat at a time.
We feature single-origin coffees from around the world. Come travel with us to Peru, Ethiopia, El Salvador, Vietnam, and more!
Our coffees are fair and direct trade and locally roasted by Cervantes Coffee in Springfield, VA.
We feature international wines and beers. Currently in house are wines from Austria, Italy, and France. This month we have a Belgian Brunehaut Blonde Ale that is gluten-free! We are also featuring Hackor-Schorr Oktoberfest from Germany.
Wines are available by glass or bottle. Beers are available by bottle or pack.
We offer specialty pastries, desserts, and small bites that pair perfectly with our coffee, teas, wine, and beer. Pastries imported from Italy and France are available at our coffee shop! We also feature Little Austria’s renowned apple strudels and tray cakes! We’re constantly seeking interesting foods from around the world and will change the menu from time to time.
David and Linda Kamminga are a husband and wife team who decided to take the plunge and open a coffee shop and bakery based on their passion and sense of adventure. David has a combined total of 25+ years in the tech and real estate industries and saw an opportunity when he found this location at Crescent Place in Leesburg, Virginia. Linda, a home cook and occasional food blogger, has always carried a passion for cooking, baking, and travel, despite being a desk jockey in the legal field.
After a short discussion, David and Linda decided life is short and why not? They wanted to offer a destination where one could have a really great cup of coffee or tea in a beautiful setting and meet new folks. Come join us in this new adventure!
